What is Cloud Computing?

What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud computing is the delivery of IT as a service rather than a physical product. Through this model; resources, software, and information are provided to computers and other devices as a service over the internet. Similar to electricity and water.
User’s access cloud based applications through connected devices, such as desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones, while the primary business applications and data are stored on servers at a remote location.
All of this translates into a more flexible, more productive, and more powerful IT service for less money than you’re currently spending.

Hosted Offerings

Hosted Offerings
Cloud computing introduces a different cost model by moving from CAPEX to OPEX and using pricing based on real utilisation. The model allows you to add or remove users as your organisation grows and changes, so at the end of a month you will only get billed for what you used during that month.
The Hosted Offerings consists of dedicated environments for each customer. These environments are segregated in order to provide the highest levels of data and access security.
CCS is currently able to offer the following software-as-service to our customers today and we will be adding more shortly.
• Microsoft Exchange 2010 with Outlook 2010
• Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010 (internet portals and web sites)
• Microsoft CRM 2011
• Microsoft Lync 2010

Free Services

Free Services
Windows Live is the brand name for a set of services and software products from Microsoft, part of their free cloud offering. A majority of these services and applications are accessible from a browser, but there are also client-side applications that require installation.
The applications are known as Windows Live Essentials which is a suite of free applications by that aims to offer integrated e-mail, instant messaging, photo-sharing, blog publishing, security services and other Windows Live services.
Essentials programs are designed to integrate well with each other, with Microsoft Windows 7, and with other Windows Live web-based services such as SkyDrive, Mesh and Hotmail, so that they operate seamlessly together. For Windows Live Mesh, the application has been rewritten and will now allow PC and Mac users to keep their documents, pictures and music in sync across multiple computers.
